OMAC in the community

Youth ages 8 through 17

(Elementary, Middle, and High schools)

In the public-school system, OMAC serves as a mentoring program to motivate students to succeed in their education and enhance their life skills. OMAC also serves as a prevention and intervention program to address problem behaviors and barriers that may interfere with student’s education whether directly or indirectly. When contacted by a public school, usually it is by the school’s counselor, or a resource liaison staff.  They help identify the students that could  benefit from the OMAC program whether they have behavioral issues or not. Once the students are identified, we meet for an hour in a classroom once a week for the entire school year.

OMAC Afterschool Program

(Middle and High schools)

The OMAC afterschool program provides services for youth who are court-ordered to participate and complete the program.  For most of the participants, OMAC is an alternative to incarceration. The youth offenders are obligated to meet at a consistent location for 2 hours every Tuesday and Thursday for a duration of 12 weeks until they have successfully completed the program. Although these participants are court ordered, the program is also available for any student/ youth who is interested in taking part in the program voluntarily.

OMAC Incarceration Program

(Adults and juveniles)

OMAC provides services for those who are incarcerated in correctional facilities. These participants are selected by the facility’s re-entry coordinator and will meet once a week for a 12-week group session.  One and a half hours for men and one and a half hours for women. Certificates are awarded upon program completion.
